ABOUT ASTRO DRAMA

Originally Astrology wasn’t focused on the individual but on the collective. Ritual, movement, and art were a natural part of it. People were taught to experience the planets with their hearts and bodies rather than their minds.

Astro Drama is an attempt at reconnecting us to the archetypical energies of the zodiac through an embodied, improvised, and lively expression.

The aim of each workshop is that participants will see their archetypal constellations embodied by other members of the group. You can imagine it a bit like a family constellation, only that participants won’t represent family members but planets in your astrological birth chart.

Each Astro Drama exploration craves a path to reconnect us to parts of our psyche that dwell in the unconscious and bring forth healing and transformation.

Pluto’s Dance:

Here you can see an excerpt from a 2-day-Astro workshop in Tulum. This is a creative and improvised embodiment of a participant’s Pluto that is conjunct to her Moon in Scorpio (left) and oppositional to Venus in Gemini (in the back). The audio was removed due to copyright restrictions.

HOW ASTRO DRAMA WORKS

1 Learning about the zodiac

We dive into a deep experimental exploration of the zodiac connecting the archetypes from Aries to Pisces with movement, sound, mantra, smell and body part.

2 Understanding the roles of the planets

We discuss the role of the planets and how their expression, combined with the individual arechetypes, might look like in terms of sound, movement, words and posture.

3 Giving expression to the planets

After we’ve learned about the archetypes and planets, we start to explore them in a group setting. With the help of meditation, sound and guided imagery, we start to give individual expression to the planets and archetypes.

4 Looking at our own chart

The whole time, we have our printed chart close to us so we can always refer back to it and see how the planetary constellations unfold.

5 Seeing our planets on stage

We see an Astro Drama exploration of their chart for each participant.

6 Embodying planets for others

If it feels right, we can also embody planets for others and through that, help them to see parts of themselves that might be unconscious.

What participants say about their
Astro Drama experience

„The Astro Drama was a wonderful experience to take off my masks and be more authentic. I was so proud.“

Ina from Germany

“It was magic happening in front of our eyes.”

Vasilisa from Russia

“Embodying the planets was a whole different experience to learn about my chart.”

Anette from Germany

“The Astro Drama helped me to understand about myself, my emotions and my past.”

Liddia from Mexico

“Creative Astrology gives the power of interpretation back to the client. By carrying out exercises in practical symbolism, exercises such as guided fantasy, role-playing, the use of painting, sound, dance and body language, the enquirer can contact their own unconscious assumptions, enlarge their sphere of personal awareness, and, most importantly, through the very act of exploring this symbolic hinterland, begin to reshape the whole structure of their psyche, known and unknown.”

  • Astro Drama has a very similar dynamic to family constellation but the big difference is that you won’t be representing any family members but archetypal figures such as Sun, Moon, Mars, Pluto or Chiron.

Of course a participant could recognize her mother in that archetype but it’s important to understand that you won’t be aiming at representing family members.

Also, Astro Drama is way more playful and artistic because we use masks and costumes.
